Jeff Waggoner is on the staff at the New York State Public Employees Federation.

On September 1, he plans on having a “blog” for New York State Progressives up and running.
 
The URL is www.nysprogressives.org   Right now, he is in the process of recruiting contributors to the blog.  A web-site designer in Denver is building the site.  It has no connection whatsoever with any organization. He is paying for it out of his own pocket.

He has some folks from his union and from Service Employees International Union 1199 interested, plus he is trying to attract academics and other activists. He even has a long-time equities researcher interested in taking part.

He wants to try to get people from across the state to participate.

This is strictly volunteer, so many professional writers will not likely want to take part.

The goal is to offer a forum for progressives, who don’t have a voice in the mainstream media.

This will be “non-partisan,” in the sense that every idea and politician will be fair game – No sacred cows allowed.
